The
anticipation, excitement and discipline of preparing for an adjudicated barbershop
contest in an environment of learning and fun is available to women singers age
25 and younger.
The purpose of the Rising Star Quartet Contest is to
encourage young women to develop mastery in their singing technique, and experience
the pleasure of singing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.
The Young Singers Foundation awards cash prizes of $2,000, $1,000, and $500
for the first, second, and third place winners of the Rising Star Quartet Contest.
The
2010 Rising Star Quartet contest will be held in Seattle, Washington on October
23, 2010. To request an application for the 2010 contest, contact the Music Services
